Crown and Champa Resorts Finalizes Details on New Domestic Airport, Madivaru

We are currently finalizing details, flight operators and opening dates for a new domestic airport, Madivaru, which will open in the Lhaviyani Atoll. The airport is owned and being developed by our owners and is approximately 20-25 minutes by speedboat away from three resorts in our collection: Komandoo, Hurawalhi, Kudadoo. The owners are hoping to open the airport this year.

This will allow evening arrivals in Male to connect to the resorts in the Lhaviyani Atoll via domestic flight on the same day and avoid the clients having overnight in Male. It will also be beneficial for group/MICE requests as larger numbers can be accommodated on the domestic flights. 2022/2023 plans include the extension of the runway and parking area to be able to accommodate private jets.
